XFire

I think xfire would be a great thing to have by the release of AOC.

if you dont know what xfire is, its a bit like msn with the instant messaging and friends and things, but its an in-game version, 0 lag and easy to use. press scroll lock + X to open the chat window and it also has features to take screenshots, recordings and allows for voice aswell so we can talk during battles and things instead of wasting time typing, which by then you would have missed the situation anyway

Thing ive found with using Voicechats in RP guilds is it can quite often have an adverse effect on potential RP, as alot of people will tend to spend too much time chatting and not as much time Ic, so ill probably stay well clear of it and just stick to the game.

well i didnt intend that voice chat be used all the time, but there are some cases where it is very useful. such as if we are in a guild battle and someone needs a quick order. its useless typing it all out because you are disracted with typing and the orders may be useless by the time youve sent it. ive found its a big advantage to use voice chat in things like that.
and yes with RP situations it is better to type and not use voice chat, but i dont think it should be completely dismissed

Me myself don't use real-voice in game; real-voice RP:ing works really bad, and I am not competitive enough to sit with a headset during fights. (And I have no microphone)
