2) Aesir (Will be using Cimmerian model to represent. I can't see this being much of a problem as both races are very similar except the Asgard generally have blonde hair, blue eyes and fairer skin than the Cimmerians. Besides, most civilised races see all barbarians as similar looking anyway...)

5) Alberich is a typical looking Aesir, blonde of hair and blue of eye with a long golden beard. His face is slightly scarred and his nose somewhat broken. Age has taken a toll on him too, slight wrinkles along his brow and under his eyes. He can be seen dressed in heavy amour typical of an Aesir warrior, but he takes great pride in the furs and ornaments he wears or carries and can be seen with many a nostalgic trinket hanging from his broad belt. Alberich stands upright and tall, with a strongly built frame although not overly bulky. He moves with barbarian grace, strong and careful and with an obvious confidence.

Alberich is usually grim-faced and dour around those he does not know. When a familiar face catches his eye, his face brightens and a broad smile crosses his face, usually followed by a hearty laugh or perhaps slap on the aforementioned persons back. When around animals of all sorts, Alberich’s features soften and he looks upon the beast with an almost patriarchal pride, showing great respect yet dominance.

6) Claiming his heritage from the snow covered wastes of Asgard; Alberich was a foolish, fierce and arrogant warrior-lord in his early years, raiding and pillaging like most of the virile barbarian Aesir tribes. He was the brother to the the Warlord of his tribe, which elevated him to a high position in his tribe. Even though he was well respected and admired for his strength, good life and fighting skills he was forced out of his homeland for betraying his wife, Olga, by drunkenly committing adultery with a local married Aesir woman. In Asgard, any man caught in adultery is stripped of his belongings, and forced to cross the snow plains naked. In this way he is supposed to freeze to death and never gain his chance to reside in the Halls of Valhalla.

Although Alberich was banished to such a fate, he survived through a chance encounter with a great hostile snow bear, with which he wrestled for hours but finally killed with a nearby discarded broken hunting knife he found half-buried in the snow. He crudely skinned the fur from its body with his newly acquired knife and wrapped the thick fur about him. After the eventful encounter with the great snow bear, Alberich felt a gradual change overcome him as he travelled south. He found a growing respect for the power of nature, something he had abused and cared little for in his youth. Alberich gradually travelled far, to the southern civilised lands, selling his fighting skills as a mercenary to any that would pay. By the time he reached the age of 42, Alberich found little comfort in fighting for fat, rich barons with their greedy paws always clasping for more power. Upon finding the city of Kathia, Alberich found his perfect solution to his problems in the form of a new and great culture. The House of the New Dawn was what he had been seeking in his recent years, specifically the Nature clan. In this atmosphere and society, he could relax and feel at home with those with a similar mind and purpose. Alberich had found his true home.

7) Growing older, wiser, less egotistical (A little less anyway) and more respectful of nature (although still chiefly bitter about his banishment and his “hag-wife” Olga…) throughout his adventures, Alberich seeks to leave the nonchalant life of a mercenary behind him and find a cause he considers worthy of his loyalty and effort.

An Aesir named Volund who hasn’t read up on Scandinavian mythology? As a Swede I am outraged! ;-)

Volund was, in mythology, a master smith who was captured by the king Nidud, who hamstrung him and kept him on a small island where he made precious jewellery and swords for the king. Eventually he managed to take his revenge, killing the kings’ sons, making goblets of their skulls plaiting them with silver for the king. The king then toasted his skilled smith with his own son's skulls. He also made two fibulas with their teeth as pearls for the kings’ daughter Bodvild. He deliberately made the pin on the fibulas weak so it broke – when she came to have it mended he forced himself upon her fathering a son, and then escaped with wings made from swan feathers fastened on a frame of silver. He also was the smith that made the sword Gram, which Sigurd Fafnersbane used to kill the dragon Fafner.

Thanks for the info though Lapis, I didn't realise how fantastic and bloodthirsty Scandinavian mythology was! I read up on it, using this source:

I actually wanted the accent (is it called that? The English language doesn't use them so i'm unfortunately ignorant on the matter ) above the "o" in Volund but my keyboard doesn't let me type it, or I don't know how to, one or the other. I heard you need specific keyboards to type it and you use thr "^" before the character to make it change. Not sure .

I'm kinda jealous that England doesn't have as interesting mythology, just King Arthur and Robin Hood (Which are boring to be honest ).

Dont forget the Saints! And we dont need Mythology, we have IMMIGRANTS!

Also England has alot of druid stuff and just alot of interesting actual history.

There is very little recorded on actual druid mythology (you have the false mythology of Ossian, which is cool anyway)! King Arthurian myth is awsome, but French in origin. And you have lots of cool real history - Scandinavian history kicks off for real in the 1350:s, while England has written records from the first century BC. Of course the scandinavian mythlore is the coolest, although eastern scandinavia isn't very well recorded (we worshipped the god Ull for instance, which is virtually unknown in western scandinavian culture around 800 AD, like Norway and Iceland).

For good scandinavian mythological reading, check out Voluspá (prophetic verse about the end of the world) as well as a few other verses of the "new" Edda (written down in the 1200:s).
